The semantic evolution of words in the context of time represents a cultural, political, social, and economical process. The advantage of reviewing some influential words in human history is to reveal the relative developments and unfold many hidden historical facts from among the documents and events. The word “Deylam” has had a noticeable transformation and development in both linguistic and cultural aspects. Some linguistic theories contribute to define “Deylam” within its several applications. “Deylam”, initially the name of a tribe, has had more than twenty other meanings in history. Those meanings, regarding the name of the places they inhabit, were formed in limitation, development and transformation.

This study which is descriptive, contrastive and chronological, aims to review semantic changes of some Persian entries under letters, ،ب،(B), ،ث،(th) and ،خ،(kh) in several Persian dictionaries to see what semantic evolution the said entries have undergone during a 40 year period.All the entries under the above letters were compared in 'Mo-een', 'Sokhan' and ‘Sadri’ dictionaries and were classified under 6 ideal parts, 9 borderline parts and according to 3 criteria of, language tendency and discourse, 'usage domain' and 'etymology'.A total of 13,321 entries were recorded in a database and presented in proper charts and tables. The findings showed that %40.22 of the entries tended to become deleted or outdated, % 8.71 included new terms and %42.07 remained unchanged.

“ Hawza ilmiyya” refers to the centre of Shiites seminary that its name background and genesis, in studies on Shiite educational and scientific institutions, has been ignored. In addition, these studies have introduced the Shiite seminaries before creation of the term, as “ Hawza ilmiyya” . This study focuses on the emergence and the semantic evolution of the term of “ Hawza ilmiyya” . The findings of this study suggest that the term of Hawza ilmiyya emerged from within socio-political changes of constitutional period and at first, in its modern sense, was entitled the institution that was founded by Sheikh Abdul Karim Haeri in Qom. Also, this study shows that the new structure of Shiite seminaries, so-called "Hawza ilmiyya", is not applicable to the ancient Shiite scientific centers.

Understanding phrases and words used in the Holy Qur'an is one step in comprehending this holy book. Interpreters should thus rely on the meanings of words to offer and explain their opinions and interpretations and should consider semantic relationships among words. However, can the superficial meaning of words or the meanings of words in their usage be considered as the basis of perception or those meanings can include the used meanings? We addressed this question drawing on Tafsir Al-Mizan, noting that Allame Tabatabai'e believes that the Holy Qur'anic words are not vague because the Holy Qur'an is the book of guidance and hence needs to be clear in meaning and free of any complicacy. This paper is specifically an attempt to survey the semantic evolution of words from Allame Tabatabai'e’ s point of view and to prove that although semantic evolution of words entail more than one meaning for a given word, there is still a strong relationship between the evolved meaning and the original one. In fact, the evolved meaning is still closely connected to the original meaning. In other words, through methods and processes like using metaphors, covering abstract rather than concrete meaning, and semantic expansion or contraction, a given word has acquired a new implication which is based on its original and old meaning. Analyzing the status of the semantic evolution of words in Tafsir Al-Mizan is what the present descriptive-analytical study intended to do in its attempt to shed light on this key aspect of interpretation and to highlight the outstanding position of this Shia interpretation. Words such as “ ajal, al-suht, akhbat, rih, etc. ” are some examples of words carrying meanings different yet relevant to their original meanings through semantic evolution. This point has not been neglected by Allame Tabatabai'e in his articulate and scholarly expressions while interpreting the ayahs. Paying attention to changes in words’ references underlines the point that Qur'anic words are not limited to their superficial meaning but encompass the spirit of meaning as well.

semantics, which has become common in Quranic studies in recent years, has been remarkably effective in recognizing the concept of Quranic words in various methods based on the text itself. Examining the semantic components of words in text is one of the methods that can discover new and hidden dimensions of the words to the researcher. Synonyms and antonyms and semantic components of "iṭmīnān" are among those that are studied and extracted in the present article. In this study, first, the meaning of "iṭmīnān" in pre-Islamic Arabic culture is investigated, then its semantic components in the Qur'an are examined which led to the recognition of the meaning of this word. The result of the research demonstrates that due to the harshness of Arabs, the original meaning of "iṭmīnān" is more apparent relief and tranquility, but based on its relation with words such as faith, it is semantically developed in the sense of peace of heart which highly plays a role in human spiritual education.

Over the last decade, the extensive representation of the “Journey to Hormoz” experience on social media, along with the extensive advertising of tourism media, has resulted in a media narrative that is not based on the reality of the context and has become an “overarching narrative.” The experience of recent years shows that this narrative, which has led to the reproduction of non-native media sub-cultures, has gradually transformed the meaning of Hormoz, which was a historical product of the interaction of the residents with their environment, and has caused the cultural narrative of Hormoz to become “dual.” On the other hand, sustainability, as a knowledge that seeks to preserve values by introducing the concept of “sustainable tourism,” evaluates the effects of the tourism industry.Research objective: This essay seeks to deal with media representation and environmental sustainability as contemporary and influential issues. Moreover, the existence of two conflicting cultural currents has led to cultural conflict. Research method: This research seeks to evaluate the effects of media representation of Hormoz Island from the perspective of sustainable tourism by employing a qualitative method based on literature and field observations. The assumption is that the prolongation of the existing conditions will encounter Hormoz with semantic conflict. Conclusion: The findings of this research indicate that the current media approach, which is based on tourism, can be evaluated as anti-sustainable. In other words, the duality in cultural space can make locals and tourists read Hormoz in two different ways, and two conflicting narratives of Hormoz can contribute to the formation of “two different places.” Also, based on the theory of “social construction of reality,” it can be predicted that due to the persuasive logic of non-native media, which is predominant, this reading can prevail over its conflicting narratives and become Hormoz’s dominant construction.

Language in its growth is just the same as an alive phenomena continuously developing and changing, although in some case the movement is too slow, it will never stop. Language is changing with all its component and elements including sounds, grammar and vocabulary. The change differs from time to time and also location to location. semantic evolution is a type of language changes that mainly involves words. Presented study provides a panel for discussing and analyzing one of the most important factors played role in Arabic words and named as inherent sources.Authors applied a descriptive- analytic approach to address mentioned factor influences and concluded that the sources and all their elements like taboo, optimism, exaggeration and so on, played a very important role in Arabic words semantic evolution, meanwhile the taboo factor is more impressive than other ones.

The term Rāfīḍa ​​was widely used in the first centuries. This title was applied to identify Shiite groups in the first century and became widespread in the second and third centuries. There have been various and sometimes contradictory views about this term. The main meaning of this term has evolved over time and other meanings have been added to it. The main question is: what was the meaning of Rāfīḍa ​​in the first three centuries and what was its first usage? The main hypothesis is that the basic meaning of rafḍ (rejection) was to consider the caliphate of Shaykhayn (Abū Bakr and Umar) illegitimate, which gradually evolved in meaning and concept. This article has used descriptive-analytical and multidisciplinary methods and has employed various approaches of sectarianism, historiography, and hadith studies. We tried to explore different perspectives and provide the ability to evaluate them. The result of this article is that Rāfīḍa was formed within the framework of a sectarian title for the notoriety of the Shiites in the first century and spread in the following centuries being a pretext for rejecting them.
